Associate Program
Development of Artist and Designer

The programme is designed to help develop emerging artists and designers who wish to work with ceramics. Here they have the opportunity to learn intensively and comprehensively about ceramic processes in practice and to test themselves in professional and entrepreneurial terms in order to build a successful and sustainable creative career.

In return for helping out in the Majolika Keramik Studio, participants receive a co-working studio space and materials and firing at cost price. They can also participate in seminars and workshops at Majolika. Furthermore, they have the opportunity to sell their products/works of art in the shop.

The programme provides a platform for networking and learning within a dynamic creative organisation of the ceramic art, craft, and design industries.

The Associateship lasts 1 year and can be extended for another year. At the end of the programme, participants have the opportunity to participate in a final exhibition at the Majolika Gallery.

What we expect:

A degree in art, design, or architecture.

or

You are in an advanced semester of one of the above-mentioned fields of study.

or

A completed vocational training in the field of ceramics or an arts and crafts profession.

Work in our manufactory 2 days a week

Team player, motivated

Applicants are selected by interview and portfolio. The programme is limited to three Associates per year.

International applicants and applicants from outside the region must provide proof of residence in Karlsruhe or the surrounding area for the duration of the associate programme. Non-EU citizens must also provide proof of a valid visa.
